Jxrev J51 Wireless Earbuds Review: 6 to 8 Hour Buds, 32 Hours Total and an Invalid Water Code

  • Light stick style true wireless earbuds with 13 millimeter drivers and a stated 3 grams per earbud.
  • Runtime is quoted as 6 to 8 hours per charge with 32 hours total including the case, which recharges in about an hour.
  • The listing states IP7 waterproofing, which is not a valid ingress protection code, and describes only splash level protection.
  • No Bluetooth codec is named, so the Hi-Fi claim is unsupported; the noise cancelling refers to the microphone, not to what you hear.
  • Ear tip sizes are never stated, and the age range field includes children with no published volume limit.

Description

The Jxrev J51 is a stick style true wireless earbud with 13 millimeter drivers, a stated 3 grams per earbud and one of the largest ratings bases in this catalog. Its listing does two things well and one thing badly. It publishes a genuine range for the earbud runtime rather than hiding behind a combined total, and it gives a charge time for the case. Then it prints an ingress protection code that does not exist.

Who this pair is for

This is a small, light, cheap everyday earbud. Jxrev quotes 3 grams per bud and a case described as pocket sized, and the shape is designed to sit flush rather than protrude. The specific use field reads sports and exercise, and the recommended uses field runs to eleven activities including cycling, motorcycling, snowboarding and skateboarding.

Treat that list as keyword padding. Two entries deserve direct pushback. This is a sealing in ear design with no transparency mode of any kind, and sealing your ears on a road removes exactly the cues you need to hear traffic. Motorcycling adds a helmet and constant wind noise to the same problem, and wearing earbuds while riding is restricted or illegal in many places. For outdoor road use an open ear design is the correct category, not this one.

There is also a hearing safety point in the specification. The age range field reads adult and kid. No volume limit is published anywhere on the listing, in decibels or otherwise. A product presented as suitable for children with no stated maximum output offers no protection against extended loud listening, and this review will not describe it as safe for a child’s hearing.

Connection and codecs

Bluetooth is given as 5.3 with a 10 meter range, which is the standard class 2 line of sight figure. The buds connect automatically when the charging case opens. Jxrev describes the connection as low latency but attaches no figure to it, so there is nothing to compare against and nothing to hold anyone to.

No codec is named, and the Hi-Fi claim rests on nothing

Not SBC, not AAC, not aptX, not LDAC. SBC is the only safe assumption, because it is the mandatory baseline that every Bluetooth device supports. The second bullet nonetheless promises impressive Hi-Fi stereo sound from 13 millimeter drivers with deep bass and mids at optimal levels. Driver size is a real specification and 13 millimeters is large for a stick design, but Hi-Fi without a named codec is a word, not a claim. Nothing on this listing supports a high resolution or lossless description.

The noise handling is similarly oversold in the title, which reads noise cancelling mic. The noise control field on the specification reads sound isolation. What is present is ENC, which cleans up your outgoing voice on a call so the other person hears less of your background. It does nothing to what you hear. There is no active noise cancellation here. If cancellation is what you want, look at products that publish it as such in our true wireless earbud listings.

Battery: 6 to 8 hours per bud, 32 hours total

The fifth bullet is the most useful sentence on the page: playtime lasts for over 6 to 8 hours from a single charge, with a total of 32 hours including the charging case, and the case fully recharges in about 1 hour over USB-C. Quoting a range rather than a single flattering number is candid, and a one hour case charge is fast.

The structured specification undercuts this by recording battery life as 32 hours, which is the combined total filed in a field meant for the earbuds. The bullets are the more coherent source. What governs your day is the 6 to 8 hour figure; the 32 hour headline requires carrying the case. As with every manufacturer, the bud figure is a best case measurement at moderate volume, so a loud session lands at the bottom of the range or below it.

Fit, controls and an invalid water code

The listing describes an ergonomic fit that does not protrude, but the included components field lists only a user manual. Ear tips are referred to nowhere except by implication, and no tip sizes are stated. On a sealing in ear design that is a meaningful omission, because tip fit governs both perceived bass and how much outside noise is physically blocked. Ask the seller how many sizes ship in the box.

Controls are dual ear touch, handling volume, track skip, pause, calls and voice assistant. Touch panels have no moving parts but misfire with wet fingers, which is worth weighing against the sport positioning.

Now the water rating. The product name says IP7 waterproof, and the fifth bullet repeats IP7. There is no such code. Ingress protection codes carry two characters after IP, a solids digit and a liquids digit, so a single number is malformed. The two codes this might be intended to mean are IPX7, which covers immersion to one meter for thirty minutes, and IP67, which adds dust protection to the same immersion rating. The same bullet then describes the product as sweat and weather resistant and splashproof, which is splash level language corresponding to IPX4, not to immersion. The structured specification reads simply waterproof with no code.

So the page offers an invalid code, splash level prose and a bare adjective, and none of them agree. This review will not call the J51 waterproof. Treat the protection as unstated until Jxrev publishes a valid two character code, and remember that no consumer IP rating covers seawater or pressurized water and that seals degrade with age. The identical problem appears on the BESNOOW I53, which suggests a shared supplier template rather than an isolated typo.

Specification errors and what else is missing

The sensitivity field reads 35 dB, which is not a plausible sensitivity for any earbud; typical figures sit in the 95 to 110 dB range. The frequency response field reads simply 20, with no unit. The number of items field reads 5. The ear placement field reads on ear while the form factor field reads in ear. The headphones jack field reads USB-C, which is the charging port. The department field reads womens on a product with no gendered feature. None of these should be read as product information.

Multipoint is not mentioned. Wear detection and auto pause are not mentioned. There is no app and no EQ. Item weight reads 3 grams and 0.106 ounces, which agree with each other and match the per earbud claim in the bullets, making this one of the few weight figures in the catalog that is not obviously wrong.

Jxrev records the sales position as ranked 3,542nd in Electronics and 493rd in earbud and in ear headphones, on a 4.2 star average across 24,165 ratings since March 2022. Note that the J51 name appears on more than one listing here, including a second Jxrev J51, and the brand also sells the Jxrev J53, so check the identifier before ordering. For comparison in the same bracket, see the MOZOTER DBK02 and the TOZO T12 in our earbud headphones section.

Who should buy it, and who should not

Buy the Jxrev J51 if you want a very light stick style bud, you value the honest 6 to 8 hour range and the one hour case charge, and you accept an unspecified codec. Skip it if you need a water rating you can rely on, because the code printed on the page is not a real one. Skip it for road cycling or riding despite the recommendations, and do not treat it as a children’s product, because no volume limit is published.
