That statement is at the top of the page rather than buried at the bottom because the Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and testimonials, at 16 CFR Part 255, expects a material connection to be disclosed clearly and before the recommendation, not after it.
What that means in practice
When you follow a buy button from one of our pages and complete a purchase at Amazon, we may receive a small commission on that sale. You pay the same price you would have paid arriving at Amazon directly. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not out of your pocket, and there is no surcharge for using our link.
We do not test products
This matters more than the commission. We do not test, wear, hear or measure any product on this site. Nothing is sent to us, nothing is bought for evaluation, and no page here reports a listening session. Every write up is assembled from manufacturer specifications and Amazon listing data, and figures are attributed to whoever published them. The method is described on the about page. If a sentence anywhere in our earbud coverage reads as though someone put a pair in and formed an opinion, it is an error and we want it reported.
What the commission does not buy
- No manufacturer or brand pays us for coverage, for placement, for wording or for the order products appear in. Nobody has bought a sentence on this site.
- We receive no free samples, no review units and no loaners, because we do not take physical product at all.
- The affiliate relationship does not change what a specification says. A weak battery figure is written up as a weak battery figure regardless of what the link pays.
- The commission rate on a product does not decide whether it is covered or how it is described.
The tracking window
Amazon credits a referral using a cookie it sets in your browser on its own domain after you arrive from our link. Under Amazon’s published program terms that window is generally twenty four hours, extended for an item you place in the cart during that window. We cannot read that cookie, cannot see your basket and cannot tell who bought what. Commission reporting reaches us as aggregate figures with no identity attached. Nothing is sold here
No payment is taken on this site and no order is placed on it.
